100 Rejections Challenge: Write Boldy, Risk Wildly

What if we reframed rejection as a mark of courage, a sign of creative bravery? Inspired by the LitHub essay “Why You Should Aim for 100 Rejections a Year,” I’m inviting you to join me in the 100 Rejections Challenge for 2025—an experiment in shifting our perspective, embracing risk, and celebrating every “no” as a necessary step toward our next “yes.”
Here’s How It Works:
-
Track Your Rejections: We’ll use a shared Google doc to log each rejection. This isn’t about judgment; it’s about cheering for the risks you’ve taken (of course this is optional)
-
Celebrate Together: Throughout the year, we’ll celebrate our badassery at submitting and all of our surprise victories. A rejection is proof that you’re putting your work out into the world, and that deserves recognition.
-
Aim for the Prize: The writer who logs the most rejections by December 31, 2025, will win a prize (plus the admiration of this bold, beautiful community).
Why Join?
Because rejection isn’t just part of the writing process—it’s proof that you’re in the game. By shifting our mindset, we’ll celebrate persistence, resilience, and the small wins that pave the way to bigger successes.
Every rejection is a tiny revolution, a way of saying, “I’m here, and I’m not stopping.” Let’s turn rejection into abundance this year.
